These additives control microbiological contamination where up to 1% volume water is present. They prevent operating problems caused by microbiological contamination such as oil/water emulsions, (produced by organic acids); sludge and slimes; plugging filters, injectors, burners and gauges; blistering of seals, hoses and connections; accelerated tank and pipes corrosion. Tincknell Supreme Fuel Store Plus Additive products have been specially formulated to protect fuels and fuel systems where fuel is stored for long periods of time and the associated equipment (e.g. engine, generator, etc.) is used only infrequently. The products contain powerful antioxidants that inhibit the growth of fuel degradation products associated with ageing and thus reduce the potential for sludge build up in fuel tanks that could be carried over into fuel pipes and engines resulting in blocked filters, and varnishing. The products also contain a fuel biocide that acts to prevent microbial growths which themselves can promote operational problems and accelerate system corrosion.
